Running on veggie oil (WVO)
So you're thinking wow a $1 a gallon, I could save a lot of money. Yes you can. And the tree-huggers like it because wvo is less polluting and renewable. The problem is its messy. You need to remember three things about running on wvo. Filter, Filter, and of course Filter. You can't get away with siphoning wvo out of the tank behind the local fast food joint in to your fuel tank for very long. First problem will be clogged fuel filters. Then the car dies. No fuel to engine. No go. You need to filter the oil to at least 5 micron. They sell the sock filters on ebay. That's what I use. Stay away from milky or jet black oil. It has too much junk in it and will clog your filters. Both sock and fuel filters. You're not saving any money when you have to replace them all the time. When you're filtering or pumping oil, you're going to get dirty and smell like wvo. Depends on where you get your oil. It could smell like French fries or Chinese food. For some reason wvo is more caustic than diesel. you will need to replace your fuel hoses with appropriate ones. Usually viton or some equivalent works. Theres is more. Ask me if you have questions.
